Whelp, Beltane did us in. May Day which is a public holiday also ended up being a bit of an R&R recovery day for us.
Hindsight being 20/20 we should have focused on being bundled like wilderness survivalists and/or we should have factored in a recovery day post-travel, but a few hours out in the dripping cold was just too much. Chesty coughs, stuffy heads,
Though I have learned of the healing properties of a hot cuppa Lemsip.
Oh and we tested negative for COVID! Thank goodness.
Things I learned on my crazy journey for allergy and cold relief:
- Superdrugs isn’t really a drugstore or pharmacy, rather it’s a cosmetics store (like Ulta in the US) with about 2 aisles of therapeutics
- Boots is a legitimate drugstore/pharmacy (even though it’s just cosmetics in the US) and had I walked 2 more blocks in the opposite direction I would have found everything I needed
- Paracetamol is just Tylenol (acetaminophen) and sadly not the party drug it sounds like
- I hate hills and would rather pay £4 + generous tip to an Uber driver rather than hike a mile up “the Mound”
